Multi-awarded journalist and ABC foreign correspondent Natashya Gutierrez revealed that a multi-million-dollar luxury villa at the exclusive Amanpulo Island in Palawan is linked to former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
According to Gutierrez, the property in question—Villa 20—is an elegant four-bedroom beachside villa featuring a plunge pool, an expansive deck, and approximately 351 square meters of interior space.
Based on its records, the villa is registered under the company Kamansi Holdings.
Gutierrez said that a review of the documents shows changes in the names listed between 2023 and 2024, the period when the former Speaker is said to have acquired the property.
The composition of the board of directors also changed, including the appointment of lawyer Jose Raulito Paras as treasurer in 2024.
Gutierrez noted that Paras also appeared in documents related to multi-million-peso properties in Spain and Forbes Park that have likewise been linked to Romualdez.
Paras was previously a director of Benguet Corporation, a company owned by the former Speaker. He is also known as a fraternity brother and a close business associate of Romualdez.
Three other lawyers were listed in the documents, but Gutierrez did not name them after discovering that they were junior associates at Paras’ law firm.
According to the journalist, the third name is a junior lawyer at Marcventures, another mining company owned by the former House Speaker
