A rare Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos gold coin, an original 19th-century photograph of Dr. Jose Rizal, and an Emilio Aguinaldo–signed presidential document are among the headline pieces going under the hammer at Minted MNL: Where Stories Bloom — Summer Show 2026.
Set for March 14 and 15, 2026 at The Westin Manila, the highly anticipated summer gathering is positioning itself as one of the most significant collectible events in the country this year.
Carefully curated collectibles
During the presentation to the media on February 25, 2026, where CinemaBravo was in attendance, among the most talked-about pieces is the 1975 Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos ₱5000 Gold Coin – “Blue Edition.” Struck in proof finish with a limited mintage of 2,832 pieces, the commemorative coin has become one of the most recognizable modern Philippine gold issues, with some examples reportedly melted or lost over time.
Equally historic is an original 19th-century photograph of Dr. Jose Rizal, considered a “holy grail” in Philippine historical ephemera. Surviving original prints of Rizal are extremely scarce due to humidity damage and wartime losses, making authenticated pieces exceptionally rare.
Also drawing attention is an Emilio Aguinaldo–signed Certificate of Office dated October 31, 1899, issued just days before Aguinaldo was forced to abandon Tarlac during the Philippine-American War. The document bears his signature and official seal as President of the Philippine Republic — a tangible artifact from a fragile moment in revolutionary history.
These lots form part of the event’s International Auction of Rare Pieces, which will feature carefully curated collectibles expected to attract serious local and international bidders.
Major highlights
While the auction is a major draw, Minted MNL’s Summer Show is structured around three key pillars:
1. International Auction of Rare Pieces
The auction segment presents museum-level artifacts and high-value collectibles to seasoned buyers and industry participants. From Spanish colonial gold coins minted in Manila to U.S.-Philippine era rarities, the lineup spans centuries of Philippine monetary and political history.
2. Bourse Floor Trading
At the heart of the show is the Bourse Floor, where collectors buy, sell, and exchange rare coins, banknotes, medals, and other historical items. Local and international dealers are expected to participate, creating a dynamic marketplace that doubles as a networking hub for collectors.
3. Grading and Authentication Services
Collectors may also submit pieces for expert evaluation during the event through on-site grading and authentication services. Participating institutions include globally recognized authorities, reinforcing Minted MNL’s connection to international numismatic standards.
Exclusive exhibits, private collections
Beyond the trading floor and auction stage, the show will feature Exclusive Collectors’ Corner Exhibits, showcasing select pieces from elite private collections.
Carrying the theme “Where Stories Bloom,” the 2026 Summer Show emphasizes how every collectible — whether gold coin, revolutionary document, or century-old photograph — carries a narrative of identity, heritage, and legacy.
For collectors, investors, and history enthusiasts, these milestone events on March 14–15 at The Westin Manila may offer a rare opportunity not just to acquire valuable pieces, but to own fragments of the nation’s story.
