Actor-politician Arron Villaflor reflected on the value of mistakes and perseverance when asked about his upbringing—an idea that closely mirrors the themes of his new film, Pater Noster.
“We need also to fall with those mistakes, and those mistakes will turn us to be a stronger… human being in all aspects,” said the Tarlac Provincial Board Member during the press conference of the action-drama film on February 27, 2026 at Viva Cafe in Quezon City.
“The moment that the Lord has given you a mission, you have to do it… as long as you can get all the guidance from Him, accept the fact na things will get wrong in some moments, but never stop and never quit,” he added.
Villaflor shared the reflection when he was asked if he had been raised as a good son, a question that relates closely to his role as Peter in the upcoming film.
In the LGK Films project, after his near-death experience in the city of Milagros, Peter—the son of an underworld kingpin—wants nothing to do with his father nor his criminal empire. But this rejection will create nothing but tremendous strife.
Directed by Moutaz Kotrob, the film stars Villaflor alongside veteran actor Archi Adamos as his father, Deo. During the same event, Adamos shared that while he may not be a perfect father, he accepts the decisions of his children—especially his LGBT+ child whom he fondly refers to as “balaki,” his portmanteau of “babae” (female) and “lalaki” (male).
Peter survives an attempted assassination that requires a full blood transfusion, which results in a change of personalities. These new personalities are totally unacceptable to Deo. Not wanting Peter to continue acting like a gay man, a prostitute, or a coward, Deo wages an all-out war in the city of Milagros in an effort to obtain a mobster’s matching blood.
The blood is eventually procured, but the war devastates Deo’s Alpha-Agila gang and forces them to flee to a remote island. While Peter’s desire for a peaceful life grows stronger, Deo begins planning a vengeance-filled comeback to Milagros.
With their conflicting choices and goals, the battle between father and son intensifies. As tensions rise, Catherine, Deo’s long-forgotten and alienated daughter, suddenly makes her presence known—raising the question of whose side she will take.
Catherine is played by Kayley Carrigan, who is skilled in martial arts, acrobatics, parkour, fight choreography, and specialized stunt techniques. A respected stuntwoman, she is particularly suited for the role, which involves intense action scenes while also highlighting her dramatic performance.
Arron Villaflor has proven his ability to portray a wide range of characters, having starred in various primetime dramas, soap operas, as well as movies. Now playing Peter, Villaflor brings remarkable depth and emotional complexity to the role, creating a performance that will undoubtedly stir audiences.
Veteran actor Archi Adamos is known for his natural, grounded performances. He has played countless significant supporting roles, and his every appearance advances the emotional arc of the narrative. In taking on the lead role of Deo, Adamos adds another significant achievement to his already accomplished career.
Catch Pater Noster in cinemas and see how blood ties can become a cage. The film opens March 25, 2026, distributed by Viva Films.
