The renowned Okinawa Actors School, a major performing arts institution in Japan that trained many of the country’s biggest music stars in the 1990s, marked a new chapter with its full revival in 2023. Known for shaping several influential artists who once dominated the Japanese music industry, the school is now introducing a fresh generation of performers.
Leading this new era is B.Rox (pronounced “B Rocks”), the first female group to debut following the academy’s comeback. The group officially entered the music scene on February 6 with the release of their digital single “Greedy Girls.”
B.Rox is the first girl group the Okinawa Actors School has launched since its revival. The act debuts under Sony Music’s RED Label, signaling the label’s support for the school’s renewed push to develop new talent.
Their debut track “Greedy Girls” is now available on major digital streaming platforms. An official music video for the single has also been released alongside the song.
Members of B.Rox were later introduced during a press roundtable held on February 28, 2026, to which CinemaBravo was invited. Video from the event can be seen below.
B.Rox is a full-fledged dance and vocal unit based in Okinawa Prefecture. The trio — Hikaru (20), Rian (18), and Rune (16) — are members of B.B.WAVES, part of the newly revived Okinawa Actors School, and serve as key figures within the institution. Despite their average age of just 18, they captivate audiences with explosive expressiveness and powerful vocals. In addition to holding their first solo live concert in Naha City in summer 2024, they gained attention for their performances at the “Okinawa Actors School Full Revival Festival” held at Nippon Budokan in March 2025 and at MAX’s 30th anniversary concert at the Okinawa Convention Center.
Their debut single “Greedy Girls” is produced by T.O.M, a top producer known for numerous streaming hits and remixes for artists such as Tokimeki Records, Hana Hope, and m-flo. The lyrics were written by TSUGUMI of the sister duo SOULHEAD, who dominated the 2000s music scene. The track is a hip-hop soul number that updates classic R&B styles for the modern era, exploding with B.Rox’s tougher-than-they-look, ambitious attitude.
“We believe B.Rox is a group where completely different personalities — our looks, voices, and characters — overlap to create exciting performances. ‘Greedy Girls’ feels like our dreams have been turned directly into a song. It expresses our determination to move forward greedily, no matter what anyone says — because we can’t stop anymore. We’re working hard to become a group that people simply think is ‘cool,’ so we truly appreciate your support,” said Hiraku.
Rather than aiming for a K-pop style, B.Rox is pursuing a direction inspired by a modern-day TLC–type group — strong, individualistic, vocally powerful, and globally resonant.
With the slogan “From Okinawa to the world,” B.Rox has begun taking their first steps internationally. The Philippines marked their first overseas trip and first international destination, made even more meaningful as some of the members have Filipino roots. During their Manila promotional visit, the group appeared as a special guest at “PASSIONISM Volume 2.0,” organized by LIV Dance Academy, performing alongside fellow Okinawa Actors School group E’sekai in what became a successful first overseas showcase.
