Route xYz launches cinematic pop-rock debut single “Madama”

A new act enters the OPM scene as cinematic pop-rock trio Route xYz releases their debut single “Madama,” which became available on digital streaming platforms on February 20, 2026.

The band was formally introduced through their first major live appearance with a single launch event on March 12, 2026 at The 70’s Bistro.

About the trio

Route xYz is composed of Lemuel “Lem” Belaro, Hiro Ozaki, and Ivo Gatela, three musicians whose collaboration brings together legacy, cultural diversity, and a fresh creative perspective.

Belaro is widely recognized as the songwriter behind several of Callalily’s most popular hits, including “Magbalik,” “Pansamantala,” “Ex,” “Pasan,” and “Stars.” With more than two decades in the industry, he contributes extensive experience and award-winning songwriting to the group’s direction.

Throughout his career, Belaro has received recognition from several major music platforms, including the Wish 107.5 Music Awards, the OPM Songhits Awards, and the MYX Year-End Countdown, highlighting his lasting influence on the OPM music landscape.

Vocalist Ivo Gatela, a rising artist mentored under Belaro’s guidance, delivers the emotional core of the band’s music with sincerity and depth. On guitars, Hiro Ozaki, a Japanese-born musician who found a creative home in the Philippines, is also one of the composers behind the theme song of “Pulang Araw, a Netflix Philippines teleserye. Ozaki is widely recognized for creatively transforming OPM songs into J-rock arrangements for his growing digital audience, bridging cultures through music.

About their debut song

“Madama” reflects the band’s musical identity through a blend of emotional storytelling and expansive orchestral textures. The track combines the nostalgic spirit of classic OPM with a modern cinematic pop-rock approach. Its layered vocal harmonies, dynamic musical arrangements, and expressive instrumentation create an immersive sound that highlights themes of love that exists yet remains just out of reach.

The song captures a sense of longing and emotional restraint, portraying moments when affection cannot be fully expressed. Whether interpreted as saying goodbye to something deeply cherished or navigating a connection limited by circumstances, the composition delivers a powerful emotional core. Each element of the track builds a sonic atmosphere marked by depth, yearning, and quiet intensity—setting the artistic tone for the band’s future releases.

Built on strong songwriting, melodic storytelling, and immersive live performances, Route xYz positions “Madama” as both an introduction and a statement of intent.
