In the world of medical aesthetics, solutions often begin with science. However, for Marlou Colina of MC Skin Care, it started with something far more personal.
Before becoming a respected name in medical aesthetics, Colina was once a young student dealing with severe acne. He shared during an intimate interview that it was an experience that left a lasting mark on both his confidence and direction in life. “Since high school, college, I was bullied for acne… So that brought me to skin care. I went to aesthetic school.”
That difficult chapter would later fuel his purpose.
Today, Colina channels that experience into science-driven skincare solutions, combining empathy with expertise as he works with patients, doctors, and aesthetic practitioners around the world.
He built a career spanning more than three decades—one that continues to focus not just on treating skin conditions, but on restoring confidence and improving quality of life.
Building solutions beyond clinic treatments
From hair loss and thinning hair to stubborn skin concerns like melasma, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, acne, psoriasis, eczema, and keratosis, millions continue searching for solutions that truly work.
“I’m based out of Houston, Texas. I’m a Cebuano. So I have an office in Cebu and also a clinic in Houston. And what I do is I’m a consultant for medical spa facilities who are looking for solutions for people looking for products to treat melasma, hyperpigmentation, and acne,” he explained.
As founder of MC Skin Care, Marlou Colina developed a specialized line of formulations designed to address some of the most recalcitrant and difficult skin conditions, particularly the nagging and recurring issue of melasma.
He emphasized that MC Skin Care is built on a structured system rather than standalone products. “MC has its own protocol that if they use it in the clinic, they’re going to see a solution for that stubborn melasma or age spots.”
Colina also highlighted the importance of continuity in treatment beyond clinic procedures.
“What we’re trying to do is we’re able to create a campaign to make an awareness that there is a solution for it. Not laser treatments itself, not even micro-needlings, but there has to be a product that they have to take home with them to the patients that is not readily available for public use.”
Through years of research, formulation, and clinical application, MC Skin Care has gained growing recognition among medical doctors and aesthetic practitioners.
Today, many physicians incorporate MC Skin Care products into their treatment protocols. Across clinics and med-spas, patients continue to share powerful testimonies of improvement: from clearer skin and balanced tone to renewed confidence after years of struggling with pigmentation and chronic skin disorders.
Science, persistence, patient-centered care
Colina’s journey into skincare was also shaped by his background in healthcare. After experiencing recurring skin issues even after moving to the United States, he pursued formal training in aesthetics while working as a nurse. “When I came to the States, my skin got better, but eventually it flared up again. So that brought me to skincare.”
He went on to combine his clinical knowledge with hands-on application. “Whatever I learned, I’m applying it to others until eventually it started going into other skincare problems because I’m a nurse. I’m able to understand physiology, pharmacokinetics. I work with chemists.”
The development of MC Skin Care was the result of years of persistence: “Trial and error, trial and error, trial and error—and then finally we were able to come up with solutions for skin conditions like melasma, uneven skin tone, keratosis, psoriasis.”
The growing affirmation comes not only from patients but also from public figures and celebrities who have embraced the MC Skin Care line.
Advocacy, education, global impact
Beyond product innovation, Marlou Colina is widely respected as an educator in medical aesthetics, empowering practitioners through science-based and ethical training that bridges cosmetology and medical practice.
His work has been featured in major medical aesthetics conferences worldwide, including gatherings in Los Angeles and Bali, Indonesia, where his research and treatment systems received strong professional interest and affirmation.
In February 2026, Marlou Colina was honored at the Global Impact Awards in Bali, Indonesia for his Global Leadership in Medical Aesthetics, Education, and Community Impact.
As CEO of the MHCO Group of Companies, Marlou Colina has built a multifaceted global career spanning healthcare, international education platforms, and internationally distributed skincare brands.

Take it from the expert
He also continues to advocate for proper skincare practices, particularly the importance of professional guidance.
“Use systems. Do not mix and match,” he advised. “Somebody’s using my product and they switch a toner—just a toner from a different brand—thinking that it’s mild, only to find out that that toner contains retinol and antagonizes the result or the chemical formulation of my product, and it burned their skin.”
He added that while trying new products can be tempting, caution is key.
“It’s very tempting to try products, you go to [different stores to try their differenty brands], but it’s always better to go to a professional for your skincare, and always be conservative,” he said.
Beyond aesthetics and business, Marlou Colina’s leadership extends into faith-driven humanitarian work, supporting non-denominational churches and community initiatives in Malawi, El Salvador, and the Philippines.
His mission goes beyond beauty; he also uplifts communities, empowering practitioners, and transforming lives.
From clinics to classrooms to global stages, Marlou Colina continues to shape the future of medical aesthetics through MC Skin Care where innovation meets compassion.
