WATCH: Cool, energetic 6-minute opening scene of ‘Baby Driver’

Columbia Pictures has just released the six-minute Baby Driver opening scene online which encapsulates the acclaimed film’s energetic spirit and cool vibe.

Check out the scene below and watch Baby Driver in Philippine cinemas on August 2, 2017.

“The movie is structured so it opens with the dream of being a getaway driver, and very quickly turns into the nightmare of being a criminal,” says director and screenwriter Edgar Wright. “The opening chase is sort of positioned as a clockwork act of precision. Everything goes right. Then very quickly, with subsequent situations, things start to go wrong, and very visceral consequences start to bear down. The storm clouds have been gathering during the movie. At some point, Baby’s luck is gonna run out.”

In the film, a talented, young getaway driver named Baby (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. When he meets the girl of his dreams (Lily James), Baby sees a chance to ditch his criminal life and make a clean getaway. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.

Full of reversals, rewinds, fast forwards and heart-stopping skips, and inspired by the types of crime-and-chase movies that have thrilled moviegoers since Steve McQueen in a revved-up Mustang changed car pursuits forever, Baby Driver is a game-changing, lane-changing, hard-charging blast only Wright could have dreamed up.

Baby Driver stars Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars), Kevin Spacey (“House of Cards”), Lily James (Cinderella), Jon Bernthal (“The Walking Dead”), Eiza Gonzalez (“From Dusk til Dawn”), with Jon Hamm (“Mad Men”) and Jamie Foxx (Sleepless).

Opening in Philippine cinemas in August 2, 2017, Baby Driver is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.

WATCH: Seth Rogen pranks grocery shoppers for ‘Sausage Party’

Columbia Pictures’ new raunchy, R-18-rated animated comedy “Sausage Party” imagines what it would be like if the food in our grocery aisles was alive.

The movie is hilarious, twisted and outrageous, but that wasn’t enough for Seth Rogen. In addition to bringing talking foods to the big screen, he also wanted to bring them to a real life grocery store with a hilarious and creepy Sausage Party prank.

A special effects team set up a few different animatronic foods in a real New York grocery store and Seth Rogen made them talk live from another room. The initial shock of people realizing they’re seeing talking food is funny in itself, but then the conversations they have with the food in question are even better. (Watch the Sausage Party Grocery Store Prank video below.)

“Sausage Party” is about one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store. The film features the vocal talents of a who’s who of today’s comedy stars – Michael Cera, James Franco, Salma Hayek, Jonah Hill, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, Danny McBride, Edward Norton, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, and Kristen Wiig.

The comedy has garnered an 86 percent Fresh Rating at Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the most acclaimed films of the year. Here’s a sample of what hard-to-please American critics have raved about “Sausage Party.”

“A raunchy and witty animated comedy that definitely isn’t kids’ stuff.” – Joe Leydon, Variety

“You will come for the kind of humor promised in the title and the well-earned R rating, but stay for the nuanced meditations on theology and faith.” – A.O. Scott, The New York Times

“An effed-up funhouse. Rogen, a livewire satirist, dishes out an R-rated cartoon treat that tackles the crisis in the Middle East, the nonexistence of God and the sex lives of supermarket products.” – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

“There is no one out there making comedies quite like Rogen and Goldberg. They are putting their definitive stamp on the modern American comedy one decency-smashing double entendre at a time.” – Lindsay Bahr, Associated Press

“Sausage Party takes racism and prejudice and throws them into its existential meat-grinder to explore identity, tolerance and religion in surprisingly intelligent fashion.” – Brian Truitt, USA Today

Now playing in cinemas nationwide, “Sausage Party” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.
