The digitally restored and re-mastered version of Chito S. Roño’s Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara will have its premiere at UP Cine Adarna, University of the Philippines Diliman on April 9, 2016 at 7:30 PM. This special screening is presented by U.P. Cineastes’ Studio and the ABS-CBN Film Restoration.

Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara is a 1995 horror-drama remake of the 1974 film of the same title, directed by Chito S. Roño and released by Star Cinema, written by Ricky Lee based on the story by Celso Ad Castillo. It is top-billed by Lorna Tolentino as Barbara and Dawn Zulueta. It also stars Tonton Gutierrez, Antoinette Taus, Anita Linda, Amy Austria, Nonie Buencamino, and Angie Ferro.
The 1974 film is led by Susan Roces as the eponymous character with Rosanna Ortiz as her antagonist. Since this original version is under FPJ Studios, they control the rights and restoration of that title for which they have the facilities.
Since 2011, the ABS-CBN Film Restoration has restored 100 titles as it aims to restore Filipino classic films to preserve our cinematic heritage.
