‘The Nun’ to star in ‘The Conjuring 2’ spinoff

Just when we all thought the terrors of The Conjuring 2 will remain inside the movie, here comes reports on a spin-off on the works.

The terrifying Nun in The Conjuring 2, Valak, is apparently having her own spotlight for the next James Wan haunter. Who could even forget about that creepy painting by Patrick Wilson’s character Ed Warren in the movie, who happens to be the malevolent spirit attacking Vera Farmiga’s Lorraine Warren.

Tasked to pen this new movie is David Leslie Johnson, the writer of equally nerve-wracking horror films Orphan and Conjuring 2. James Wan and Peter Safran will work together again as producers. Other information such as cast and director are yet to be rolled out.

It can be recalled that this is not the first time that New Line Cinema will have a spin-off for its blockbuster horror hit. In 2014, the demon-possessed doll Annabelle took her titutlar role out of the success of the first Conjuring film.

The first report about the Conjuring 2 spin-off was from The Hollywood Reporter.
