Reprising their roles in the much-awaited sequels to James Cameron’s epic science fiction film are Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Jooel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald, and Sigourney Weaver. New members are Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Vin Diesel, Jemaine Clement, and Oona Chalip.

Filming of the first two sequels began on September 25, 2017.
Avatar 2 will be released on December 17, 2021 (instead of the earlier-announced December 18, 2020).
Avatar 3 is slated on December 22, 2023 (originally December 17, 2021).
James Cameron earlier noted that Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 will only become possible if the first two sequels become a hit in terms of box office success.
If so, Avatar 4 will drop on December 19, 2025 (from December 20, 2024).
Avatar 5 is then set for release on December 17, 2027 (from December 19, 2025).
