TV5 to air PH version of game shows ‘The Wall,’ ‘1000 Heartbeats’

This March 2021, watch out for the local franchise of international game shows The Wall and 1000 Heartbeats, hosted by Billy Crawford and Xian Lim respectively. These fresh additions to the game show rosters of TV5 are both produced by Viva Entertainment.

Billy Joe Crawford hosts his third Kapatid show

Newly awarded as the Best Male Variety Show Host for the Kapatid Network’s new noontime show Lunch Out Loud, Billy Joe Crawford is more than ready to host a quiz show after more than a decade. The Wall Philippines is now his third ongoing show under TV5 — apart from LOL and Masked Singer Pilipinas (which will return for a second season soon).

About The Wall

The Wall Philippines is a franchise of the American format that has been airing in the US since 2016. One of its executive producers for the US version is LeBron James.

The Wall is like a giant pachinko game with a twist. The mechanics are simple: get a correct answer to get a GREEN ball, miss a question and get a RED ball; green adds to the total pot money while red deducts. The game is played by two players with a close familiarity, with the first episodes featuring blood-related contestants. The pair works as a team to bank as much money they can by answering a series of questions. After the third round is a decision round, where drama and hilarity ensues.

Xian Lim hosts his first-ever game show

Actor-model-performer Xian Lim is given his dream project as a game show host through the heart-pounding and intense quiz show 1000 Heartbeats: Pintig Pinoy. It is the first international franchise of the original British format 1000 Heartbeats. For the Philippine version, comedian and vlogger Chad Kinis joins Xian as a co-host.

About 1000 Heartbeats

Pressure is on for each single contestant playing for a million peso jackpot prize.

Each of the contestants will be alloted 1000 heartbeats as its equivalent of a time limit to answer a set of questions. With the help of a monitoring equipment, the players’ heart rates will be recorded throughout the game, upon which the game is declared over once all 1000 heartbeats are registered. Conversely, the way to win the cash prize is by keeping their cool under pressure in all seven rounds.
