For the upcoming youth-oriented film Caught in the Act that is intended for submission to the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival, the Himaya band is the top choice for its writer-director Perry Escaño — most especially because of his confidence on the band’s leader, “rocker-preacher” Alvin Barcelona. The movie’s official soundtrack includes the performance of Himaya, led by Bro. Alvin and his son Aio Barcelona.
The Himaya band — whose name is derived from the Cebuano word that means “glory,” “praise,” or “bliss” — has been more than game to promote their songs included in the movie album soundtrack released by ABS-CBN Star Music. In fact, Bro. Alvin was the mind behind four of the six songs in the album called “Inner Love”:
- “Nariyan Ka Lang Pala” performed by Andi Abaya;
- “Sabihin Ko Na Ba” performed by Bamboo B.;
- “Huwag Muna Ngayon” performed by Jhassy Busran; and
- “Huli Ka” performed by him with Himaya.
On another hand, Aio Barcelona contributed the song “Ako Muna” performed by him with Himaya.
The sixth song in the album entitled “Tanging Hiling” is righfully composed by Henry Ong and performed by Andi Abaya.
You may listen to their songs via the Spotify album of Caught in the Act: Inner Love here:
All of these six songs in the album were arranged and engineered by Jeric Mison and Mike Nuez of Himaya. The album is now available on Spotify, iTunes, Youtube, and other music and multimedia platforms.
There are also music videos to this song which are all available on Star Music’s YouTube channel.
