Amidst the effect of Typhoon Odette in various areas of the country, especially in Visayas and in Mindanao, various artists and movie stars have lauded Vice President Leni Robredo’s hands-on leadership and efforts to help the Filipino people.
On her Instagram page, actress/TV host Kris Aquino praised Robredo for always on top of the situation when it comes to calamities.
Aquino said she’s been coordinating with Robredo as early as 5 a.m. for the donations she collected for the typhoon victims.
The actress/host said she and fellow actress Angel Locsin always turn to Robredo when they want to assist in relief efforts.
Aquino later joined Robredo in giving aid to the typhoon victims in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Locsin, for her part, called on those who want to help typhoon victims to bring their donations to the Leni-Kiko Volunteer office.
“They converted their campaign area into a hard-working relief operation hub. The place have areas for receiving donations, repacking, storing goods, and communication center for those who needed rescuing, relief and also to find loved ones,” she said.
“Sinantabi muna ang kampanya para makatulong. We need more servant leaders like her,” she said.
Actress Rita Avila also praised Robredo for her quick action to help typhoon victims.
“Laging kumikilos agad. Walang patama. Totoo namang kumikilos agad kahit puyat o may konting karamdaman. Salamat po VP Leni,” said Avila, who later joined volunteers at the Leni-Kiko Volunteer office in packing and preparing relief goods.
“Ang saya makitang ang daming tumutulong sa kanya-kanyang paraan. Napaka-organized ng team ni VP Leni. Mana sa kanya,” Avila said in a Facebook post.
Actor/model Elijah Canlas also volunteered in packing relief goods at the volunteer center. He later posted a photo with Robredo with the caption “My pawis na pawis photo with MY PRESIDENT!” as he encouraged other people to volunteer and donate for the typhoon victims.
