The biggest and the most star-studded bakery industry event in the Philippines is open to the public from March 2 to 4, 2023 at the World Trade Center at Sen. Gil J. Puyat Ave. corner Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City. The much-awaited 3-day event, led by its organizer Filipino Chinese Bakery Association, Inc. with its President Gerik Chua and other officers, is open daily from 10 AM to 7 PM.

The following prominent personalities attended the opening day of the fair: Vice-President Sara Duterte Carpio, Senator Imee Marcos, Senator Loren Legarda, Senator Mark Villar, Senator Mark Villar, Senator Koko Pimentel, former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

The above-mentioned names and other leaders congratulated FCBAI for organizing Bakery Fair 2023, which supports the revival of the Philippine bakery industry and the Philippine economy. Leaders of various Asian and Asean bakery associations and business leaders shall also attend Bakery Fair 2023.

Bakery Fair 2023 has 136 exhibitors covering 10,000 square meters or one hectare of the World Trade Center. There shall also be many educational technical seminars by different top bakery industry-related companies, bakers, chefs and experts.

This is the comeback of the Bakery Fair after four years due to the global pandemic and it signals the revival of the Philippine baking industry despite inflation and other challenges.

“Bakery Fair” is the biennial civic project of the FCBAI to promote and uplift the Philippines bakery industry and support socio-economic development.

One of the exciting events of Bakery Fair 2023 is the “FCBAI Bakers Cup Wedding Cake Competition 2023”, which shall showcase exciting and awesome wedding cake creations of “Kasalang Pinoy” theme. Be mesmerized with the bakers’ amazing creations using fondant, royal icing, gum paste and many more. This is one of the most awaited events of the year, wherein the first prize winner will have a chance to receive a prize worth P80,000 pesos. Winners were announced on the opening day, March 2, and the wedding cakes of finalists are on exhibit throughout Bakery Fair 2023.

Another important event in Bakery Fair 2023 is “Angel Cup 2023”. The Angel Cup-Bread Display Competition highlights the making of Bread Showpiece, Artisan Bread, Healthy Bread and Sweet Dough with dough filling.

FCBAI is part of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), the umbrella business and civic organization of 170 Filipino Chinese chambers of commerce and trade organizations from Aparri to Tawi Tawi. History records showed that Chinese migrants were the earliest bakers in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era, bringing also flour here.
