Recently, while at the Cannes Film Festival, Nathan Studios, with the help of actress Lorna Tolentino and 888 Films International, got the rights to a great Japanese movie called Monster. This movie is special because it won an award for its writing at Cannes, and it’s directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda, who usually writes his movies. Also, the music for the movie is by the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, making it a tribute to him.
Monster had its first showing at the Cannes Film Festival on May 17, 2023, and it was up for a big award. It was later released in Japan on June 2, 2023.
Monster is a movie about growing up, lies, and what happens when secrets come out. It tells the story from three different viewpoints, showing hidden truths that affect everyone. The movie is beautifully made and brings out strong emotions in the actors.
Sylvia Sanchez, Ria, and Lorna, after watching Monster, were deeply moved. They connected with it on many levels, as mothers, children, and people. So, they decided to bring the movie to the Philippines.
“It’s a touching story about love, stopping bullying, family, and mental health,” says Ria. The Nathan Studios team believes that Filipinos will love the movie just as much.
As Nathan Studios gets ready to show Monster in the Philippines, you can expect a powerful and thought-provoking cinematic experience. They’re always working to bring different and meaningful stories to the forefront of entertainment.
