Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival has ushered in festive delight for twenty-five exceptionally gifted student filmmakers. Hailing from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, these emerging talents have been announced as the esteemed recipients of film grants valued at P100,000 each. Amidst a competitive field of 245 submissions for the short film category, these filmmakers distinguished themselves with their promising projects.
Vincent Co, President of Puregold Price Club Inc., expressed his enthusiasm regarding the positive impact these film grants will have on the recipients’ filmmaking endeavors. He emphasized the significance of nurturing their passion for filmmaking, anticipating their elation upon receiving the good news.
The short film category’s selection committee comprised esteemed individuals, including award-winning director Lemuel Lorca, film critic Tito Valiente, Puregold Senior Marketing Manager Ivy Piedad, and Puregold CinePanalo festival director Chris Cahilig.
Puregold CinePanalo seeks to inspire and uplift young creatives nationwide, encouraging them to elevate their craft. The P100,000 grant is expected to play a pivotal role in funding their filmmaking projects. The chosen film grant recipients will have their shorts screened at Gateway Cinema in March 2024 and showcased on Puregold’s official social media channels, including YouTube and TikTok.
Ivy Piedad, Senior Marketing Manager at Puregold, highlighted the festival as a celebration of hope and inspiration within Filipino culture. She emphasied that by investing in Filipino youth, Puregold is investing in the development of the soon-to-be defining artists of our time.
