“A Glimpse of Forever” is the latest offering of Viva Films and writer-director Jason Paul Laxamana — the makers of blockbuster hits like “Expensive Candy,” “100 Tula Para Kay Stella,” and “Just a Stranger.” This is made possible with Ninuno Media, which is a partnership between Viva Communications and filmmaker Laxamana himself.
This film weaves a compelling romance-drama with a touch of sci-fi magic. The stellar cast includes acclaimed actors Jasmine Curtis-Smith as Glenda, Diego Loyzaga as Kokoy, “The Boy Next Door,” and Jerome Ponce as Dante, ensuring a unique blend of emotions and futuristic storytelling.
During the media conference of this new film which is showing in cinemas nationwide starting March 6, the mind behind it — Jason Paul Laxamana — shared how he pitched the project to the bosses of Viva. He encapsulated his story through the tagline “A love triangle between two people,” pertaining to the feelings the female lead has to the male virtual persona and the actual male human being behind it.

In the quest for solace amid relationship frustrations, Glenda seeks companionship in the virtual dating realm of ForeVR. Choosing “The Boy Next Door” from the four virtual personas surprises the studio, as this character was removed due to low interest. Initially irking Glenda with his straightforward demeanor, Kokoy transforms into the supportive friend she desperately needs.
Dante, the talent behind “The Boy Next Door,” is a failed theater actor battling social anxiety. Working as a Motion Capture Actor at ForeVR, he excels in providing real-time voice and movement for the virtual character. Despite restrictions on revealing identities, Dante’s exceptional acting skills make him ForeVR’s top motion capture actor. As Dante and Glenda’s connection deepens, they grapple with the possibility of translating their virtual bond into the real world.
While ForeVR serves as a temporary haven for Glenda and Dante, personal challenges loom. Can their love transcend the virtual realm when faced with conflicting realities? The film delves into the complexities of their relationship and poses the question: can love endure beyond ForeVR?

The stellar cast, including Jasmine Curtis-Smith with 10 awards in the last decade, Diego Loyzaga’s Best Actor nomination at the 2023 Famas Awards for “Greed,” and Jerome Ponce’s nods at the 2022 Famas Awards and 2023 FAP Awards for “Katips,” ensures a compelling portrayal of characters in “A Glimpse of Forever.”
Witness their authenticity (and virtuality) on screen when the film hits theaters nationwide on March 6, 2024.
