In a recent media conference attended by KrisshRome for their contract signing with Viva, the dynamic love team consisting of Jerome Ponce and Krissha Viaje openly addressed questions about their experiences and challenges, providing a candid look into their journey.
One of the many projects in their pipeline is Viva One’s first-ever horror series, ‘Sem Break,’ featuring beloved pairings from the UniverKada (the cast from ‘The Rain in España’ and ‘Safe Skies, Archer’). This new Viva One Original Series is scheduled to premiere in May 2024.
But before diving into their next project, CinemaBravo, among the invited media, posed questions that delved into the intricacies of their working relationship and how they handle both success and criticism from the get-go of SSA.
Jerome on navigating his role
Jerome, reflecting on the unveiling of the first cast of the Gino M. Santos-directed series ‘Safe Skies, Archer (SSA)’ in October 2023, honestly addressed the challenges he faced in accepting his role despite initial disappointments.
(“Only now am I sharing this… during the first cast reveal, I wasn’t that energetic—lacked energy—and I accepted it because before that, people already had an idea [of who would play Hiro].
(But we need to rise, we need to continue, as the chance was given to you! All I knew was to answer honestly and do my job, and all the way until it ends, I just loved my work even more, loved the story because I was genuinely delighted with the script and the book. That’s what I told them.”)
Kasi trabaho yon [in the] first place.”
(“Little by little, those comments that I’m not really who they expected, not the one they wanted, are still there. Actually, everything has been said. All I need to do is to focus on doing my job.
“I can’t step back! I just thought, at the end of the day, I will be the one to finish this story, and I will be the one portraying it. I just need to find something to eat for myself and my family. Because, after all, it’s my job in the first place.”)

Krissha on embracing feedback
Krissha, on the other hand, revealed her approach to handling criticism: “Tao lang ako so may feelings ako. Sometimes when I read bad comments about me, nalulungkot ako, but I reflect on it if totoo ba. Kumbaga, is it really something that I have to work on.
(“I’m just human, so I have feelings. Sometimes when I read negative comments about me, I get sad, but I reflect on whether it’s true. Like, is it really something I need to work on?
“Pero pag halimbawa yung bashing ay… to make you feel bad, para lang may masabi sila na masama, yon yung mga ini-ignore ko. Pero from people who have concern, kahit mukha siyang bashing, I take it, and then I make sure na I get better.”
“But if it’s bashing, intended to make you feel bad just for the sake of saying something negative, those are the ones I ignore. But when it comes from people who genuinely care, even if it looks like bashing, I take it, and then I make sure to improve.”)

KrisshRome’s promise for each other
The rest of the mediacon offered a unique glimpse into the personal and professional dynamics of KrisshRome as they renew their contract with Viva Artist Agency.
When asked by CinemaBravo what they can guarantee each other moving forward in their careers with Viva, Jerome briefly noted, “Maipapangako ko sa kanya: yung buong-buo, ibibigay ko sa lahat.”
(“This is what I can promise her: My whole, I will give everything.”)
On the other hand, Krissha expressed her unwavering support and constancy in their relationship, affirming, “Kahit ano’ng mangyayari, hindi ako magbabago sa ‘yo. I’ll stay the same. I’ll always be happy for you. Kung sino ako ngayon, hindi ako magbabago.”
(“No matter what happens, I won’t change for you. I’ll remain the same. I’ll always be happy for you. Who I am now, I won’t change.”)
