VS Hotel Corporation, in collaboration with Rems Entertainment, proudly unveiled VS Cinema with a star-studded red-carpet event at the Victoria Sports Tower on September 8, 2024. The grand launch showcased an exciting blend of cutting-edge technology, luxurious amenities, and provided a new venue for filmmakers and the public to showcase their works.
During the open forum at the event, director-producer Gabby Ramos shared the motivation behind opening VS Cinema. He explained, “…Kung meron po lang silang avenue na maipapalabas sila, makakabawi agad sila,” (If only they had a venue to showcase their films, they would quickly recover their costs), highlighting the challenges filmmakers face in finding suitable venues.
(And these filmmakers, like me, will be able to create new work… It feels great, right, that after making a film, you can watch it and your family can watch it too. So that’s the first reason why they agreed or why we came up with the idea to open this cinema.)
The opening ceremony, held on the 8th floor of the Victoria Sports Tower, was attended by some of the country’s most prominent figures in the entertainment industry, including acclaimed filmmakers, producers, and media personalities. The event opened with a traditional blessing followed by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, marking the official debut of VS Cinema. The energy of the night was elevated by a show-stopping performance from Douglas Nierras’ Power Dance, leaving the audience thrilled.

Among the notable personalities in attendance were Rems Entertainment CEO Gabby Ramos, VS Hotel Corporation General Manager Dr. Mario Isic, Group Sales Manager Alex Labastilla, and Hart Ocampo, who oversees operations at Victoria Sports Club and Cinema. The event also welcomed Jasmine Omay, Miss Victoria Sports 2024 and 1st Princess of Miss World 2024, who serves as the official ambassadress of the hotel.
Adding to the star power of the night was Imelda Papin, a Pinoy music legend and current director at PCSO, whose presence highlighted the significance of the new venue in the entertainment landscape.
Prior to this launch, Brillante Mendoza’s acclaimed film “Moro” had an exclusive private screening at VS Cinema in July 2024, attended by an all-star cast including Piolo Pascual, Baron Geisler, and Laurice Guillen, just before it premiered on Netflix.
