Actress Bea Binene once again expressed her unwavering support for former senator and now independent senatorial candidate Bam Aquino, describing him as someone who is “fit and suited” to serve the Filipino people as a lawmaker.
In her recent social media post, Bea emphasized Aquino’s accomplishments as the youngest member of the 16th Congress, citing key laws he helped pass such as the Go Negosyo Act, SK Reform Act, Microfinance NGOs Act, Free Internet Access in Public Space Act, and the landmark Libreng Kolehiyo Act.
“Maraming resibo ng nagawa, maraming kababayan ang nakinabang (at nakikinabang) at pangmatagalan at para sa nakararami ang solusyon,” said Bea, who joined Bam’s motorcade around Metro Manila.
(Many results to show, many Filipinos have benefited—and continue to benefit—and the solutions he pushed for are long-term and for the greater good.)
“Sa motorcade pa lang nung Linggo kasama si Senator Bam, sobrang nakakataba na ng puso yun suporta, mula sa volunteers, sa mga bumubusina para maipakita ang suporta, lalong-lalo na yung mga nagabang at nagsabing sila ay nakagraduate na dahil sa Libreng Kolehiyo Act. Isang patunay ‘to na may pag-asa pa… Na kung may mga public officials tayo katulad ni Senator Bam, pwede pa tayong hindi mawalan ng pag-asa,” she added.
(Just during the Sunday motorcade with Senator Bam, my heart was already full from all the support—from volunteers, from those honking their horns to show their backing, especially those who came out and said they graduated thanks to the Free College Act. It’s proof that there’s still hope… That if we have public officials like Senator Bam, we don’t have to lose hope.)
Bea has actively participated in various house-to-house and market runs across the country, along with Bam’s wife, Timi. She also joined Bam when he filed his certificate of candidacy before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in October.
“Maraming salamat sa serbisyo at sa lahat ng pagmamahal sa ating bansa. It’s always an honor to walk with you kasama sina Ms. Timi, Rory, and Coco, at lahat ng mga Pilipino patungo sa mas magandang Pilipinas!” she said.
(Thank you for your service and all your love for our country. It’s always an honor to walk with you, with Ms. Timi, Rory, and Coco, and with all Filipinos toward a better Philippines!)
With just days before the elections, she also urged her followers to support Bam Aquino on May 12, emphasizing that his victory would be a win for the entire Filipino people.
“Let’s show Senator Bam some love!! Hindi lang ngayon, kundi lalo na sa May 12! Wag po natin kalimutan si Senator Bam Aquino, Number 5 sa balota, ngayong eleksyon! Dahil ang panalo ni Senator Bam, hindi isang katapusan, kundi isang simula ng panalo nating lahat!” Binene said.
(Let’s support Senator Bam! Not just today, but especially on May 12! Let’s not forget Senator Bam Aquino, Number 5 on the ballot this election! Because his victory isn’t the end—it’s the beginning of a win for all of us!)
Aquino ranked 11th in the latest Pulse Asia survey conducted from April 20 to 24.
