After years away from the spotlight, Asia’s Nightingale, Lani Misalucha, is making a powerful return to the concert stage with Still, Lani—a grand showcase honoring her 40 illustrious years in music. The event happening this August 21, 2025 at The Theatre at Solaire, marks both a celebration of her artistic excellence and her much-awaited comeback.
Lani’s four-decade journey will be brought to life through a majestic 40-piece orchestra, under the musical direction of Toma Cayabyab, son of National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab. The concert promises a fresh and emotional retelling of her legacy through music that has captivated generations.
Directed by the creative Calvin Neria, Still, Lani is produced by Backstage Entertainment, a division of Backstage Manila, with producers Nate Quijano and Cris Mananquil at the helm.
Career updates
During her solo media conference held in a restaurant in Quezon City on May 7, Lani shared updates about her life and career in recent years, revealing that she continues to perform both locally and abroad.
“I still do shows sa Amerika. I get to do some shows sa casinos, pero hindi na yung katulad [ng] dati na meron akong residency na casino sa Las Vegas. Hindi katulad noon na nakakapag-show ako five times a week, sing-and-dance, tumatalon and all that—hindi ko na ginagawa yon. What I do is I really just do the kinds of show that I want to do,” she said.
She also confirmed her return as one of the original judges—alongside Christian Bautista and Ai-Ai Delas Alas—for the upcoming seventh season of GMA’s reality singing contest The Clash, which is set to air soon.
From choir girl to vocal icon
From the moment she first graced a church choir in Manila to conquering global stages, Lani Misalucha has become synonymous with vocal perfection. Her breakout in 1997 with the critically acclaimed debut album More Than I Should set the stage for an illustrious career. She followed with genre-defying albums such as Tunay Na Mahal (1998), All Heart (2000), and the gospel-tinged The Promise, cementing her reputation as a vocal chameleon.
Who could forget her stirring renditions of “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin,” “Tila,” “You Don’t Own Me,” “Malaya Ka Na,” and “Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin”? These songs have become anthems for countless fans across the globe.
In 2004, Lani made history as the first Asian artist to headline a main showroom on the Las Vegas Strip, performing with the Society of Seven at Bally’s Hotel and Casino. Dubbed the “Siren of the Strip,” she enchanted American audiences and received standing ovations from music icons such as Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick, and Joe Jackson.
Her immense talent was recognized by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which named her “Best Singer” in its 27th Annual Best of Las Vegas Poll—an honor she shared with none other than Celine Dion.
Her international acclaim didn’t stop there. Misalucha has shared the stage with musical greats like Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Brian McKnight, and Sergio Mendes, effortlessly transitioning from soul to classical, from jazz to gospel. Her soulful performance of “I Live For Your Love” earned her the “Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist” at the 20th Awit Awards.
She was also honored with “Lani Misalucha Day” in both Las Vegas (December 4) and San Francisco (August 17)—a rare and touching tribute to her impact as an artist and cultural ambassador.
A night of legacy and new music
Now, as she marks four phenomenal decades in music, Lani gifts her audience once again—not only with a career-spanning performance but also with new songs that reflect her evolution as an artist. Be among the first to hear “Timeless My Love” and the empowering anthem “I Rise to the Top”—fresh musical masterpieces that echo her journey, resilience, and continued relevance in today’s soundscape.
Still, Lani is more than a concert. It is a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of a voice that transcends genres, languages, and borders—a voice that tells stories, stirs souls, and uplifts hearts. With a repertoire that blends beloved classics with brand-new originals, Lani Misalucha proves once more that true artistry never fades—it only grows deeper, richer, and more powerful with time.
