Nico Locco, Apphle Celso, Stephanie Raz turn ‘Hayok’ in new VMX suspense film

VMX expands its lineup of daring and provocative stories with Hayok, a suspense-filled film that dives into obsession, betrayal, and the painful consequences of revenge.

The movie stars VMX premiere talents Apphle Celso and Stephanie Raz alongside Nico Locco and Chester Grecia. Directed by Topel Lee, Hayok explores the dangerous clash between power and broken trust, unfolding through a dark and emotionally charged narrative.

Now streaming on VMX, the film continues the platform’s streak of bold cinematic offerings that push the limits of storytelling.

Apphle is Lucy, a woman defined by her fierce independence and an uncompromising approach to her own desires. Living life by her own set of rules, Lucy navigates a world of fleeting encounters, maintaining a strict sense of control over her intimacy and ensuring that her connections never repeat. However, this carefully constructed reality begins to unravel when she crosses paths with Neil (Nico Locco), a contractor whose presence brings a dangerous volatility into her private sanctuary.

The narrative tension tightens as Neil moves into Lucy’s private resort accompanied by his girlfriend, Angie (Stephanie). While Angie finds herself drawn to Lucy’s complex character and quiet kindness, Neil’s initial attraction quickly mutates into a suffocating and violent obsession. Unable to reconcile with Lucy’s rejection, Neil’s sense of entitlement escalates, leading him to commit a series of transgressions that blur the lines between attraction and control. What begins as a professional arrangement soon descends into a psychological battlefield, as Lucy is forced to navigate the escalating threat posed by a man who refuses to acknowledge her agency or the word “no.”

Rather than succumbing to the trauma inflicted upon her, Lucy chooses a path of calculated retaliation, orchestrating a complex web of manipulation designed to strip Neil of his perceived power.

Hayok stands as a provocative addition to the VMX library of Topel Lee films, challenging viewers to witness the devastating impact of obsession and the lengths one will go to find justice in the wake of violation. The movie is now available for streaming exclusively on the VMX app and website. Subscribe now for only P169/month.
