The FEU Institute of Technology (FEU Tech) unveiled a new partnership with Philippine Coding Camp (PCC) that seeks to broaden opportunities for young innovators, strengthen technology education and institutional capabilities, and promote innovation in support of national development.

The collaboration was further discussed during a press conference held on June 17, 2026, at the FEU Tech Innovation Center in Manila, attended by Philippine Coding Camp Founder and CEO Dr. Gabriel Avelino R. Sampedro, FEU Tech Executive Director Rossana T. Adao, Senior Director for Student Success Jarvis C. Muyargas, and Senior Director for Innovation and Research Engr. Daryl D. David.

The announcement coincided with the staging of InnoVision 2026: Special Forum on Military IT Convergence, organized by Philippine Coding Camp and co-presented with FEU Tech and the FEU Tech Innovation Center. The forum gathered representatives from the defense sector, academe, government, research institutions, and the technology industry to explore how emerging technologies can help strengthen military education, improve public-sector readiness, advance defense innovation, and further enhance the Philippines’ technological capabilities.

The partnership will combine PCC’s experience in technology training, capacity-building, and cross-sector engagement with FEU Tech’s academic expertise and the FEU Tech Innovation Center’s collaborative environment. Together, the institutions intend to develop programs that provide students, educators, researchers, professionals, and public-sector personnel with greater access to emerging technologies, expert mentorship, applied learning, and innovation opportunities.

Through these joint initiatives, Philippine Coding Camp will lead the development of technology programs, industry and government linkages, innovation-focused activities, and capacity-building efforts. FEU Tech and the FEU Tech Innovation Center will provide an important academic and institutional foundation where learners and innovators can collaborate, test ideas, conduct applied research, and engage with real-world challenges.

Empowering Future Filipino Tech Innovators

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to developing environments where young innovators can explore technologies such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, autonomous systems, and other emerging fields.

Rather than limiting innovation to classroom instruction, the planned initiatives will emphasize practical exposure, interdisciplinary collaboration, research engagement, and the application of technology to actual institutional and societal needs.

The FEU Tech Innovation Center will serve as an enabling space for these activities, providing a venue for students, researchers, technology experts, government representatives, and industry partners to exchange ideas and pursue collaborative projects.

For Philippine Coding Camp, the partnership forms part of its broader mission to bridge the gap between technology education and real-world application. PCC will continue to connect young innovators and institutions with technical experts, industry practitioners, academic partners, and government stakeholders who can help move promising ideas from awareness and learning toward experimentation, implementation, and impact.

Strengthening Defense Through Technology Education and Research

InnoVision 2026 also highlighted Philippine Coding Camp’s growing role in supporting the technology upskilling and research initiatives of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other defense-related institutions.

PCC has been helping uniformed personnel strengthen their capabilities in areas such as software quality assurance, digital tools, data-driven thinking, emerging technologies, and technology-enabled workflows. These programs are designed to complement the modernization efforts of defense institutions by building the knowledge and technical confidence needed to understand, evaluate, and responsibly apply new technologies.

Beyond technical training, PCC seeks to support a stronger research and innovation culture within the defense community. Through expert-led programs, institutional partnerships, and platforms such as InnoVision, PCC is helping create opportunities for military personnel, researchers, educators, and technology professionals to exchange knowledge and explore solutions relevant to national security, institutional readiness, and public service.

The special forum featured distinguished international speakers, including Dr. Artem Lensky of UNSW Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy, who teaches surveillance technologies and communication and information systems to military officers, and Dr. Steve Chan, a science and technology adviser, inventor, and researcher whose work has involved government, industry, ASEAN Member States, the United Nations, and international technology forums.

Their participation gave attendees insights into the evolving role of artificial intelligence, surveillance systems, information technologies, open-source intelligence, and cross-domain capabilities in modern defense and public-sector environments.

Turning Innovation into National Progress

InnoVision 2026 builds on the InnoVision Campus Series conducted in February 2026. While the campus series focused on introducing students and academic communities to emerging technologies, the special forum marked the initiative’s expansion toward institutional collaboration, professional capacity-building, research, and nation-building.

The event underscored that adopting emerging technologies requires more than acquiring new tools. Institutions must also develop people who can understand the technology, assess its implications, apply it responsibly, and adapt it to local needs.
