DITP brings Thai content companies to Manila, talks business with CreaZion Studios, GMA Network

The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) under Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce is strengthening opportunities for Thai content in the Philippine market through business engagements between Thai companies and key Philippine industry players.

As part of the THAI CONTENT IN THE PHILIPPINES project, DITP led a delegation of Thai companies from the film, television, series, and related services sectors to Manila on 26 August 2026 for business discussions with two leading Philippine companies, CreaZion Studio and GMA Network.

The meetings were conducted under the Business Company Visits, also known as the “Knock Door” activity, giving participating Thai companies direct access to potential business partners in the Philippines.

The business discussions also opened opportunities for content licensing and distribution, co-production, and further expansion of Thai content within the Philippine market.

Through these engagements, DITP aims to facilitate business connections between Thai and Philippine companies while creating new avenues for Thai film, television, series, and related content and services to reach audiences and partners in the Philippines.

The Philippines is a promising market for the Thai content industry. Streaming services are growing steadily, and audiences increasingly consume content through digital platforms and Connected TV (CTV). The Premium Video-on-Demand (VOD) market in Southeast Asia grew by 19% in 2025, reaching more than 61 million paid subscriptions across five key markets.Thailand and the Philippines have continued to expand, while the Philippines has emerged as one of the region’s notable CTV growth markets. The Philippine streaming market itself is projected to grow from USD 283 million in 2024 to USD 421 million in 2026 — an increase of approximately 49% — reflecting rising demand for diverse content, particularly local and Asian titles, and creating opportunities for Thai companies to establish partnerships and expand their presence in the market.

During the day, the Thai delegation visited twokey players in the Philippine content industry — production, distribution and media services — exchanging views on industry developments, market trends, audience behaviour and opportunities for Thai content, and presenting their content portfolios and business capabilities.

CreaZion Studios is a Philippine production company with an award-winning creative team focused on film and television production, digital content production, advertising and music. The company develops and produces content for local and international audiences and has also been involved in international co-production projects.

GMA Network is one of the Philippines’ leading television networks and media companies, with businesses spanning television, radio, and programme production and distribution. The company also has experience acquiring Asian content for dubbing and broadcast in the Philippines.

The visits were warmly received by bothcompanies, reflecting the strong interest of Philippine businesses in Thai content and the potential to further develop business relationships between the two countries.Discussions explored potential areas of cooperation, including content licensing and distribution, co-production, and opportunities to bring Thai content to wider audiences in the Philippines.

The programme continues on 28 August 2026 with the Business Matching and Networking Dinner Talk at the New World Makati Hotel, Manila. The events will provide an opportunity to build on the discussions initiated during the company visits and connect the Thai delegation with Philippine buyers and business partners from across the industry, creating opportunities for content licensing and distribution, co-production, and other forms of business collaboration.

The THAI CONTENT IN THE PHILIPPINES project forms part of DITP’s broader efforts to promote Thai content internationally, supporting Thai film, television and related businesses in building partnerships, expanding market opportunities and reaching new audiences around the world.
