Jeniffer Maravilla, Psalms David release respective new songs ‘Alimuom,’ ‘Ride’

Two new singles are off to become crowd favorites in Kapuso stars and ‘The Clash’ alums Jeniffer Maravilla (with ‘Alimuom’) and Psalms David (with ‘Ride’).

During their virtual media conference, Psalms and Jeniffer shared the inspiration behind their new songs.

Jeniffer Maravilla’s ‘Alimuom’

GMA Playlist artist Jeniffer Maravilla has just released her debut single entitled ‘Alimuom,’ which tells about the aftermath of a heartbreak. It is now available for download and streaming on all music streaming platforms.

Ang naging impact sa akin o naging pinakasimbolo sa akin ng ‘Alimuom’: despite all the hardship na ating pinagdaan, every time meron tayong pagkakataon, we are given the opportunity to rise again and begin a new chapter.”

On her social media page, Jeniffer also took to her social media account to share how personal her first single is.

“My 1st single!!! ALIMUOM is very personal. To be honest I’m quite terrified habang ginagawa namin to. Thank you for giving me the freedom for me to have that courage to try it anyway. Thank you for making Alimuom possible. Truly means a lot to me. I enjoyed the journey 🫶🏼

She continued to thank the people behind this new milestone.

“To GMA Playlist I am forever grateful, thank you for making my dreams come true.

I am just really happy to share the journey with you. Salamat sa passion and dedication mo. Thank you for sharing and allowing me na bigyang buhay ang creation mo. I am honored. Sending love and light. Return to you guys a thousandfold 🤍🤍🤍

Psalms David’s ‘Ride’

For Psalms, the pandemic has a lot to do with the creation of his song. “Yung inspiration ng song na ‘to [is] the struggles that everyone was going through and is going through up until now kasi may pandemic pa rin naman. Pero since in the midst of the pandemic siya isinulat, naka-lockdown pa n’on…

The singer-composer’s latest single is about the beauty of human emotions and healing. For him, people must enjoy the ride of life no matter how hard it can be.

He also directed and edited his own performance video for GMA Music.

For giving him yet another chance to drop a self-composed song, he had this to say to GMA Music: “Thank you, GMA Music, for giving me the chance to show my artistry to everyone. Sobrang excited po akong marinig ninyo itong ‘Ride’ kasi paborito ko po itong kanta na ito and excited po akong malaman ‘yung reviews ninyo or kung paano kayo naapektuhan nito.”

As he talked further about ‘Ride,’ he related how this is usually associated to the term ‘road trip.’

“So doon po talaga nagsimula ‘yon.
