A light and memorable moment unfolded at the Maddox Jewelry showroom after award-winning actress Rita Avila successfully secured an appointment—on her third attempt.
Rita visited the Maddox Jewelry showroom located along JP Rizal Street in Concepcion Uno, Marikina City, where she personally met founder and president Charo Cordial.
During their meeting, Rita shared that she had been an avid viewer of Cordial’s online live selling sessions. Cordial, in turn, explained why booking a slot through their system can be challenging.
“Through www.maddoxappointment.com, we can only accommodate up to 300 customers per day,” said Cordial, who is also known as the “Queen of Diamonds.” She added that the capacity used to be limited to just 50 customers daily.
Rita expressed her excitement over finally visiting the showroom, saying, “I used to just watch, and now I’m here.”
Cordial responded with equal enthusiasm, noting that she had long followed Rita’s work as well. The two later admitted that they were both starstruck upon meeting each other in person.
The conversation also touched on Rita’s well-known interest in collecting dolls. Cordial asked if there was any truth to claims that the dolls have a life of their own.
Rita clarified that such claims are unfounded, explaining that while she enjoys collecting and caring for dolls, they remain toys. She added that as an actress and director working alongside her husband, FM Reyes, having an active imagination comes naturally, but it remains part of creative expression.
Cordial related to the topic by sharing her own experience of keeping a childhood teddy bear, which she continues to hold onto even after several relocations.
Rita also briefly looked back on her career in show business, recalling her past daring roles and emotionally demanding scenes, including moments that left a lasting impact on her.
