What began as casual jam sessions in their living room has grown into an international musical journey for Cebu-based family band Missioned Souls, which is set to embark on its first-ever concert tour across the United States this September.
Speaking during a recent virtual interview with select entertainment media, the family recalled how the group came together naturally rather than through any grand plan.
“We had all our instruments out. One time, we were just gathered [and] chatting. They already know their instruments that time. We just figures out there was spark. We realized we can do a band as a band,” shared mother Sheena.
The band’s name also reflects the family’s values and purpose.
“We wanted ‘souls’ in the name,” Sheena explained. “Since their grandma is a missionary, we just took that inspiration and named [the band] ‘Missioned Soul,’ and also to inspire people to be family- and faith-centered.”
That philosophy continues to shape everything the family does, both on and off the stage.
Hailing from Cebu City, Missioned Souls is composed of parents Secan and Sheena together with their children Naces, Neisha, Stacey, and Isaiah.
While many music groups are formed through auditions or entertainment companies, Missioned Souls has built its identity around genuine family relationships, shared faith, and a passion for making music together.
The family’s mission extends beyond performing.
“We are a family commissioned to propagate the importance of family unity by showing love and respect to each family member and for one another. We put into action our God-given gifts to bring joy and fun into other people’s lives through music.”
Their performances reflect those beliefs, blending uplifting music with messages of gratitude, love, and togetherness. For the family, every show serves as an expression of thanksgiving for the talents they believe God has entrusted to them.
Despite having no major record label or extensive promotional machinery behind them, Missioned Souls has steadily built an international following through social media, where audiences have embraced not only their musical talent but also their authentic family dynamic.
Their online community continues to grow, with more than 328,000 subscribers on YouTube, over 63,000 followers and more than 500,000 likes on TikTok, upwards of 16,000 followers on Instagram, and an active Facebook audience that continues to recommend their performances to new listeners.
Their videos have reached viewers across Asia, North America, Europe, and Australia, introducing global audiences to a distinctly Filipino family band that blends musicianship with wholesome entertainment.
Each member contributes a unique role to the group.
Father Secan plays bass while also handling sound engineering and audio mixing. Sheena serves as one of the band’s lead vocalists. Naces showcases his keyboard skills while also performing on bass guitar. Neisha plays both rhythm and lead guitar, although bass remains her first instrument. Stacey contributes vocals while alternating between rhythm and bass guitar. Completing the lineup is the youngest member, Isaiah, whose energetic drumming has earned him the nickname “Little Drummer Boy” among fans.
Together, their natural chemistry has become one of the band’s defining strengths, creating performances that are both polished and deeply personal.
Missioned Souls also reflects a growing movement among Filipino artists who have successfully built loyal audiences online before expanding into live concert stages. Through consistent digital content and direct engagement with fans, they have cultivated a following that now includes Filipino-Americans as well as a growing number of international listeners.
Their repertoire spans classic rock, pop, ska, and contemporary hits, presented through performances designed to appeal to audiences of all ages.
The family’s next milestone comes this September as they launch their inaugural U.S. concert tour, which includes three performances in Texas, two in New Mexico, and one in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
More than introducing their music to American audiences, the tour also brings with it the values that have defined Missioned Souls from the very beginning—faith, family, and unity.
At a time when wholesome entertainment that families can enjoy together has become increasingly rare, Missioned Souls hopes to offer audiences an experience that goes beyond music.
Their story is a reminder that shared dreams can begin at home, and that when talent is matched with faith, humility, and genuine family bonds, its message can resonate far beyond borders.
