Lotlot De Leon opened up about one of the biggest financial setbacks she has experienced while visiting Maddox Jewelry, where she sat down for a candid conversation with Charo Cordial.

The actress initially visited the jewelry store to have some of her prized pieces checked and repaired, including her eternity ring after one of its large diamond stones fell off.

During the discussion, Charo stressed the importance of regularly inspecting jewelry, especially pieces with large gemstones, to ensure the prongs holding the stones remain secure and prevent them from becoming loose.

The conversation also touched on the increasing value of natural diamonds over time. According to Charo, some pieces that were originally purchased for hundreds of thousands of pesos have appreciated to values reaching millions, making them not only luxury items but also worthwhile investments.

The interview later shifted to one of the most painful business experiences in Lotlot’s life—a scam that cost her and her business partners around P80,000.

She shared that they were running a milkfish business when they received a large order worth approximately P80,000. Since the payment was made through what appeared to be a manager’s check and the products were picked up by a well-known courier, they believed the transaction was legitimate and released their goods.

However, they discovered the truth after depositing the check at the bank.

“Akala namin may pang-Pasko na kami. Pagdating sa bangko, fake pala ang manager’s check,” Lotlot recalled.

(We thought we already had money for Christmas. When we got to the bank, we found out the manager’s check was fake.)

Lotlot admitted the incident was especially painful because they not only lost their products but also had to shoulder all the business expenses. She added that the experience taught her to be much more cautious when handling business transactions.

The interview also touched on her life as the daughter of Superstar Nora Aunor and Christopher De Leon. Lotlot said she grew up seeing her parents’ careers in show business as simply part of their work and never considered it unusual.

“Para sa akin, trabaho lang nila ‘yon. Hindi naman ako tinrato nang iba sa school dahil anak nila ako,” she said.

(To me, that was simply their job. I was never treated differently in school because I was their child.)

Lotlot also spoke about raising her four children while balancing her career, family responsibilities, and personal passions such as cooking.

Looking back on the challenges she has faced over the years, the actress said she now values life’s simple joys even more and treasures the lessons she has learned from every experience.
