DITP brings 18 Thai content companies to Manila to expand PH, ASEAN partnerships

Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), under the Ministry of Commerce, is bringing 18 Thai companies from the film, drama, series, television programming and related service sectors to Manila for THAI CONTENT IN THE PHILIPPINES 2026, happening from August 26 to 28, 2026.

The initiative is part of DITP’s continuing efforts to promote Thailand’s content industry in international markets while opening new avenues for trade and business partnerships.

Through the three-day event, participating Thai companies will have opportunities to explore the Philippine market, engage in business negotiations, pursue content licensing deals and establish co-production partnerships with local industry players.

Beyond the Philippines, the initiative also seeks to strengthen connections between Thai content companies and business networks across ASEAN, creating wider opportunities for Thai film, drama, series and television content in the region.

Announcing the initiative, Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, Director-General of DITP, said that the Philippines is one of a high-potential markets for Thailand’s content industry, driven by the continued growth of its creative economy, the expansion of digital platforms and streaming services, and a large young and working-age population. The growing popularity of Thai artists, actors and content among Filipino audiences also presents significant opportunities for Thai businesses to reach new audiences, license content, pursue co-production opportunities, and develop business partnerships between the two countries.

For this initiative, DITP has selected 18 high-potential Thai companies representing a broad range of businesses across the film, drama, series, television and related service industries. The participating companies include businesses with proven track records and work recognized both in Thailand and internationally. They will showcase content and services that respond to the needs of the Philippine market, while seeking opportunities to establish and strengthen business partnerships at the regional level.

Three-Part Programme

THAI CONTENT IN THE PHILIPPINES 2026 comprises three key activities:

Company Visits — 26–27 August 2026 Thai participants will visit Philippine companies and organizations involved in the content industry and the distribution of Thai content in the Philippines. The visits are designed to facilitate information exchange, deepen market understanding and build business networks and explore potential partnerships.

Business Matching — 28 August 2026, New World Makati Hotel A full day of business meetings will connect Thai companies with Philippine importers, distributors, digital platforms and prospective business partners. The activity will provide opportunities to discuss content licensing, business cooperation and potential trade and investment opportunities.

Networking Dinner Talk — evening of 28 August 2026, New World Makati Hotel
The networking dinner will bring together Thai participants and stakeholders from the Philippine entertainment industry in an informal setting to build relationships, exchange perspectives and explore opportunities for future business collaboration.

DITP continues to support Thai businesses in accessing regional and international trade platforms and industry events, with the aim of creating new business opportunities, increasing export value and promoting the sustainable growth of Thailand’s content industry.

Through these efforts, DITP seeks to strengthen Thailand’s position as a regional hub for content and entertainment, while connecting Thai businesses with international partners and expanding the global reach of Thai content.
