Cong. Alfred Vargas condemns pet dumping, demands justice for affected animals

Quezon City Congressman Alfred Vargas has condemned the dumping of deceased pets in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, calling for accountability and stronger protection for animals and their owners.

In a video statement addressed to fellow Quezon City residents, pet parents, and animal lovers, Vargas expressed support for the investigation into the incident and assured the public that he would coordinate with concerned city departments and offices to help prevent similar cases.

(We support the investigation being conducted by the authorities. We must not allow those responsible for this tragedy to escape the law.)

The lawmaker also acknowledged the pain and anger experienced by the affected pet owners, emphasizing that animals are more than just companions and deserve dignity even after their death.

(As an animal lover and concerned pet owner, I feel the immense pain and anger of every affected family. They are not merely pets but members of our families. Until the very end, they deserve the respect and love that their fur parents have shown them.)

Vargas said Quezon City would work with concerned departments and offices to address the matter and help ensure that similar incidents would not happen again.

He likewise urged the public to unite in advocating for animal welfare, saying, “Manindigan po tayo at magkaisa para sa ganap na proteksyon sa pets at pet owners.”

(Let us stand firm and unite in pursuing full protection for pets and pet owners.)

He ended his message by reiterating his support for the affected fur parents and the pursuit of justice for the animals.
