Beauty Gonzalez opens up about body dysmorphia, bashers, marriage in Maddox Jewelry interview

Beauty Gonzalez candidly shared some of the most personal chapters of her life during her guest appearance with Charo Cordial of Maddox Jewelry, opening up about her struggle with body dysmorphia, dealing with online criticism, and the foundation of her happy married life.

The conversation took place while the actress was choosing natural diamond jewelry for herself and her daughter, Olivia, before it naturally shifted to stories about her career and personal journey.

One of the topics Beauty openly discussed was her long-running battle with body dysmorphia, a condition that causes a person to constantly see flaws or imperfections in their appearance even when others do not.

“Kapag tumitingin ako sa salamin, pakiramdam ko may kulang pa rin. Parang kailangan ko pang pumayat. In other words… lokaret lang ako,” Beauty shared in jest.

(When I look in the mirror, I still feel like something is missing. It feels like I still need to lose weight. In other words… I’m just being a little crazy.)

The actress admitted that she continues to experience body dysmorphia even today, especially since her profession requires her to constantly appear camera-ready. She shared that her husband has played a significant role in reminding her that she is enough and does not need to chase an impossible standard of beauty.

The interview also touched on her controversial ancient gold jewelry collection, which previously went viral and drew mixed reactions on social media.

Beauty explained that the pieces she wore were inspired by ancient gold artifacts discovered in Butuan and other parts of the Philippines. Through her designs, she said she hopes to showcase and celebrate the country’s rich history and cultural heritage.

Although some critics questioned the collection because several pieces were inspired by ancient burial artifacts, Beauty maintained that her intention was to highlight the importance of preserving and appreciating Filipino culture.

She also looked back on how she entered the entertainment industry. According to Beauty, it was her mother’s lifelong dream to become a beauty queen, which inspired her to encourage Beauty to join pageants. Those competitions eventually opened the door for her showbiz career.

Despite her success in the entertainment industry, Beauty said she now values a quieter life with her family more than anything else.

She also showed her playful side when asked who was more “mataray” between her and Kris Bernal.

“Ako. Okay lang akong matawag na mataray. Kasi maganda ako eh!” she quipped.

(It’s me. I’m okay with being called snobbish. Because I’m beautiful!)

Throughout the interview, Beauty showcased her authenticity, humor, and willingness to share personal experiences, qualities that resonated with many viewers.

The Maddox Jewelry interview featured even more colorful stories and personal revelations from the actress.
